Mt. Vernon, Longwood Gardens, Washington DC, Mystic Aquarium 3-Day Tour - Including National Christmas Tree [BOS_DCX3D]
DAY 1 Boston - Longwood Gardens
No holiday is complete without a visit to Longwood Gardens, where more than 400,000 twinkling lights and spectacular fountain shows compose a brilliant wonderland your family is sure to love. Large, starry snowflakes and icicles sparkle throughout the Gardens, while the continuously performing Theatre fountains present the colors of a Christmas rainbow. And then go to Washington DC.
DAY 2 Mount Vernon - Ice sculpture - National Christmas tree
Experience George Washington's Estate and Garden. Mount Vernon, the most popular historic estate in America that now features an underground museum and education center with original movies, over 700 artifacts, and an immersive Revolutionary War "snow" experience. Tour the 45-acre historic estate which includes the Mansion house as it appeared in 1799, more than a dozen outbuildings, four distinct gardens, a Forest Trail, and a four-acre exhibition farm. George and Martha Washington rest in peace in the tomb, and Mount Vernon's slaves are honored at the nearby Slave Memorial and Burial Ground.
Gaylord National's popular ICE! winter holiday attraction returns with an all-new, hilarious theme: ICE! featuring DreamWorks' Merry Madagascar. From Nov. 18 to Jan. 8, the DreamWorks Animation holiday TV special will be brought to life in an interactive world of colorful ice sculptures carved entirely from TWO-MILLION pounds of ice. Relive the story as you stroll through this amazing attraction featuring scenes such as how Santa and his reindeer crash-landed onto the island of Madagascar, and why Alex, Marty, Gloria, Melman and the wacky penguins must figure out how to save Christmas by delivering all the presents themselves. Even the mischievous lemur King Julien learns the true meaning of the holiday and manages to get himself off the "naughty list" once and for all.
We will continue to share the message of peace with the National Christmas Tree in White House. The grand illumination of the Christmas lights on the tree by the President of the United States early in the Christmas season is an annual televised event and the start of month-long festivities known as the Pageant of Peace. Nearby smaller trees and other decorations leading up to the National Christmas Tree are referred to as the Pathway to Peace.
DAY 3 Mystic Aquarium - Boston
We will also visit Mystic Village in Connecticut, home to a model19th century seafaring village, as well as the Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration*. The aquarium is home to a huge variety of ocean life, including Beluga whales, sea lions, penguins and sharks. Kids will have the opportunity to experience hands-on exhibits and sea life touch stations throughout the museum. After this, our final stop, we will make the last leg of our journey to Boston, where we should arrive in the evening.
