Washington D.C. Cherry Blossom Festival 3-Day Tour
Day 1 Boston – Longwood Gardens - Washington D.C.
We start our journey from Boston, toward Philadelphia, PA, where we arrive at the Longwood Gardens* for the day. Widely regarded as one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in the United States, the flowers and plants of Longwood’s over 1,000 acres of gardens and meadows attract visitors year-round. There are more than 20 outdoor gardens and 20 indoor gardens to walk through, where you can gaze upon various exotic species carefully raised in controlled environments. There are a number of seasonal performances and events, themed attractions, and lessons on horticulture to guide your interest for the countless natural beauties on display. Various fountains dance choreographed streams of water to musical pieces. After a day of exploration, we head to our hotel near Washington DC.
Day 2 Washington D.C.
We will start the next day of the tour early in the morning at the U.S. capital, Washington DC. Afterwards, we will take a Potomac River Cruise* through the capital city, before touring, on land, the keystones of American civilization. You will see the U.S. Capitol Building, where Congress meets to debate legislation. Sights on our tour will include the White House, the principal home and workplace to every U.S. President, since John Adams; the Lincoln Memorial where the larger-than-life stone recreation of Abraham Lincoln resides; and finally the somber and patriotic Korean War and Vietnam Veterans memorials. We end our day in Washington DC with a visit to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum*, which features exhibits about the history of American flight and space exploration, from the Wright brothers to the space shuttle.
Day 3 Washington D.C. - Mystic Aquarium - Boston
We will also visit Mystic Village in Connecticut, home to a model 19th century seafaring village, as well as the Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration. The aquarium is home to a huge variety of ocean life, including Beluga whales, sea lions, penguins and sharks. Kids will have the opportunity to experience hands-on exhibits and sea life touch stations throughout the museum. After this, our final stop, we will make the last leg of our journey to Boston, where we should arrive in the evening.
